Sirius Satellite Radio Service

Sirius Satellite Radio is a radio service offering to users over 130 channels of satellite radio featuring digital quality music, sports, news and amusement programs whenever and wherever you want to listen. Sirius Satellite Radio service provider use a fleet of satellites to broadcast over 135 channels of satellite radio to the listeners all through the continental US and Canada. Sirius Satellite Radio was in the past recognized as Satellite CD Radio Inc. On November 18, 1999 the company altered its name to Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. The name is derived from Sirius which is referred to as the Dog Star every now and then, the most shining star in the night time sky. The dog in the Sirius logo is informally called "Mongo", a name gathered from the first appearance of Sirius funding on Casey Atwood’s and later Jimmy Spencer’s NASCAR entry, when the publicizing cast voted on names. There are two radio services operating in the United States and Canada, along with XM Radio and the Sirius Satellite Radio is one of them. The Sirius was officially initiated on July 1, 2002 and headquartered in New York City, with smaller studios in Los Angeles and Memphis. Sirius Satellite Radio presently offers 69 streams (radio channels) of music and 65 streams of sports, news and entertainment to listeners of United States and Canada. Music channels on Sirius transmit a wide range of genres broadcasting 24 hours daily and are commercial free. Some of Sirius music channels are incorporated as part of the Dish Network satellite television service. On Feb 10 2007, both Sirius and Xm Satellite Radio were amalgamated. They also have lots of unique programming. Sirius host hundreds of special live interviews of different peoples and different performances you would not hear anywhere else and produce many attention-grabbing and appealing live talk shows in their nationwide broadcast studios. Some of the famous talk shows hosts on Sirius are Martha Stewart, Howard Stern, Tony Stewart, Jamie Foxx and many more.

To me Sirius Radio is on demand entertainment, you get to listen to whatever you wish for when you want and it is excellent radio that is getting more popular by the day. With most Satellite Radio enabled radio sets, the listeners can see the artist and song information on display while listening to the channel. The streams of Sirius Satellite Radio are broadcast from satellites in an indirect geosynchronous orbit above North America. Satellite Radio programming also has a width and depth of programming mainly not available on usual radio services. They play the songs of the listener’s choice and lots of songs that they know you'll love when you hear them for the first time. On October 16, 2006 Sirius Satellite Radio declared that it would be launching Sirius Internet Radio with 78 of its 135 channels being accessible worldwide on the internet to any of its subscribers with a legal user name and password.
