Speaker Wire and Its Use

On every type of speaker wire you have your left and your right that is generally striped with in red and white. Car Speakers come in one wire independently formed together so when you fastener the speaker wires left and right to your speakers you can pull them separately at the end. This is good for organizing the speaker properly. You then have to strip the ends of the wires and put on terminals to connect to your speakers. Speaker wire is typically made out of high quality copper covered with a clear plastic jacket for isolating purposes.

If you have low power speakers and you don't want to connect the speakers to your car stereo amplifier because surely they will get too much power from the amp, then you should connect the speakers directly to head unit. There should be speaker wires already installed and organized around the back of your car deck, but even thou you will have to connect your own speaker wire to that. That is why this procedure is cut short. You may have to strip the speaker wires as well and then part or interweave them together with the speaker wires for proper working. Make sure you make this a proper connection using a crimp or eyelet and that you match up correctly the lefts and rights. And this must be referring to your deck's manual for the correct wires. If you are going to connect your speakers to your amplifier for higher power then you should run RCA cables from your deck to the input on the amplifier for better performance. Then run your speaker wire from the output on the amplifier to the speakers. You will need a multi-channel amplifier to achieve this.

When you are measuring to cut the length of your speaker wire, always allocate some extra length of wire, just in case you run into different obstructions or may be make the wrong measurements. I would strongly suggest for giving about an additional foot of wire per every 4 feet. Keep in mind that the thicker the speaker wire, the less signal that is absorbed by the copper and higher the performance of the deck. Make sure that your speaker wire is broad enough to handle the strong audio signals easily. It is recommended that always use the wire that is few sizes bigger than what is required for the stereo system. In this way, you don’t need to change the old speaker wire if you decide to upgrade your old speaker system. Speaker wires are manufactured by several car stereo products and accessories manufacturing companies for the different types of speakers and stereo systems. Speaker wires are manufactured by keeping in mind the particular power of the speakers and the stereo system that can be easily supported by the wire. Speaker wires are easily available at the local car stereo stores as well as online car stereo stores at excellent prices.
