The number of rudiments or components that are built into the speaker decides the number of "ways" the speaker is classified. For example, a car stereo speaker with a large cone (woofer) at the back and two small cones (tweeters) in the front would categorize as a "3-way" speaker.

Mid-Bass/Midrange – The Midrange speakers are usually designed and intended to pick up and reproduce the middle and some lower bass frequencies. Midrange speakers enhance the frequency of middle range and make sound better.
